bring on the evening hours, i cry
bring on the evidence of my life
So here it is, my first ever movie review!
I have no idea how to do this...
( mostly spoiler-free )
Comments from the readers? Very much appreciate it, I've never written anything like this before. Also, favourite scenes/characters/did you like it/have you watched it?
[Also, I forgot to celebrate: The last post was my 100th post on LJ... heh]

Peeping in for a moment while I have the time.
Miss this place.
Miss this place.
For the benefit of Asra, because writing long things in comments is counter-intuitive to me XD
Film titles and directors of two of the short film selections of the French Film Festival:

tonight there will be
darkness - beneath the starlight;
pouring into windows
every crevice
meandering (through cracks, forming
seas that stretch
until the horizon
feeling with absolute conviction that
yes
yes, there will be good times - just
not tonight
not right now, when the stars are rolled out against the pavement
the crunching of rubbery gravel that stains your sneakers red
black, white, black
simplicity is different from unambiguity
and all is laid clear before your eyes
we cast our doubts into the dawn and dive
into the fading dark -
like fading light but sharper and with
less pretense
(prompted by movin's password...)

I found my old house in Australia with Google Earth while doing research for my character.
I miss it now.

A summary of Plants versus Zombies Herbivores:
If you are a...
Herbivore:
Aim: Herbivorous predation - the consumption of plant material by an animal YUM FOOD
You will encounter:
1. The seasonal changing of mineral and energy content in plants TOO COLD/ALL DEAD
2. The structural and chemical defenses of plants (e.g. lignin and tannin, cause reduced digestibility) OUCH
Counter this by:
1. Learning to recognise the different ranges of nutritional quality (e.g. migrate to somewhere less cold during winter) BE OBSERVANT
2. Adapting your habits (eat slowly) and body (long gastrointestinal tract, large cecum, slow metabolic rates) sssssLLOOOWWW DOOOWWWNNN
Plant:
Aim: To not get eaten AHH
Your defenses:
1. Predator swamping - sychronised flowering, prevents specialisation of predators BOOM
2. Structural adaptations (spines, thorns, silica, you name it) POK'EM TO DEATH
3. Chemical deterrences, including
(a) Repellents - discourage predators from feeding of laying eggs make them say EWWW
(b) Toxins - can cause mortality DIE DIE DIE (e.g. cyanogenic glycosides)
(c) Hormone mimics pretend you're their BRAIN (e.g. potato releases aphid alarm pheromone)
Remember, only one can live while the other survives...
